Maurice Ivan Stebbins was born on February 14, 1914 at Sister Dempster's Private Hospital in Albury, Albury City Council County, NSW Australia to Rev. Ivan Stanley Stebbins and Mary Annie (Roadknight) Stebbins, and had siblings Una Lillian Mary Allen ( Stebbins and Stanley James Walter Stebbins. He married Molly Stebbins ( McLaren, and had a child Helen Beatrice Roadknight. Maurice Stebbins died at age 86 years old on August 21, 2000.

The President who championed a woman's right to vote also created a day in their honor.
