She married Buford Conaway, and had children Cledith Wayne Conaway, Kathy Sue (Conaway) Yates, Garnie Ray Conaway, Glena Mae (Conaway) Deel, Linda Carol (Conaway) Lockhart, and Rhonda Sharon (Conaway) Ramey. Melvinie Conaway died at age 52 years old on October 23, 1979, and was buried on October 25, 1979.

Melvinie was my Mommy. She and my daddy owned a grocery store call Conaway's Market. They bought the store in 1965 and sold it because of illness had struck her because of breast cancer in 1977. Her and daddy raised 6 children, 2 boys and 4 girls. Cledith Wayne Conaway, Kathy Sue Conaway Yates, Garnie Ray Conaway, Glena Mae Conaway Deel, Linda Carol Conaway Lockhart and Rhonda Sharon Conaway Ramey on Greenbrier and in 1972 bought a home owned by two sisters by the name of Lola Deel and Kelsa Deel on Russell Prater. Mommy died on October 23, 1979 and daddy died January 20, 1986.

Melvinie Conaway was my wonderful Christian mommy that worked so hard raising us kids while working and owning Conaway's Market along with my daddy, Buford Conaway. She died at the age of 52 from breast cancer in October 23, 1979. Her legacy lives on as a kind, generous, honest and a great person to have as your friend. My love for her is as strong as it has ever been. She died when I was only 19 and the world without her has been very lonely. There is no other love than the love of a mother and she truly fit that description of a virtual woman.
