    Mildred Weisberg was the daughter of Jacob and Anna (Frank) Horvitz who immigrated from Lithuania and lived in New York City. She had two sisters Rita Bengis who lived in New York and Naomi Rosen who lived in Israel. She was a dressmaker and performer with the Russian Balalaika Orchestra of New York. She married Jasha Weisberg in 1932 and he died in 1966. A copy of her obituary which appeared in The Journal News in 1987 is below.

    The following appeared in The Journal News (White Plains, New York) on Wednesday May 13th 1987 Mildred Weisberg Mildred Weisberg, who lived in Pomona 37 years, died Tuesday at Northern Metropolitan Nursing Home in Monsey. She was 84. She was born July 18, 1902, in Lithuania, the daughter of Jacob and Anna (Frank) Horvitz. For many years, she worked as a dress designer in New York City. She retired and moved to Pomona in 1950. In 1932, she married Jasha Weisberg. He died in 1966. She and her husband were performers for many years with the Russian Balalaika Orchestra of New York. Mrs. Weidberg was a member of Pioneer Women and Brandeis University Women. She is survived by two sisters, Rita Bengis of Pomona and Naomi Rosen of Israel. Funeral services are to be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Hebrew Community Chapel, State Street, Spring Valley. Burial will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery in Westwood.
