Mildred Weisberg was the daughter of Jacob and Anna (Frank) Horvitz who immigrated from Lithuania and lived in New York City. She had two sisters Rita Bengis who lived in New York and Naomi Rosen who lived in Israel. She was a dressmaker and performer with the Russian Balalaika Orchestra of New York. She married Jasha Weisberg in 1932 and he died in 1966.
