    Miles Chauncey "Chancy" Tyler was the son of Isaac and Abigail (Chauncey) Hotchkiss Tyler. He was the husband of Sarah (Sanford) Tyler. Early on he came to Smithville, New York to build "corduroy roads". He served during the Revolutionary War. --A "corduroy road" is a road built of logs laid side by side transversely.
