Milnes Levick of Manhattan, New York United States was born on January 30, 1825 in Boston, Lincolnshire County, England United Kingdom to George Levick and Eleanor Milnes. Milnes Levick had a sister Maria Levick. He married Matilda Flint on March 27, 1845. They had a child Eleanor Matilda. He would also marry Emily Sagon Page on February 27, 1854. They had a child Gustavus Richard Craven Levick. Milnes Levick died at age 72 years old on April 18, 1897 in Manhattan County, New York United States, and was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in The Bronx, Bronx County.

    Milnes was an English comedian/actor who abandoned his wife and seven year old daughter to live with his mistress Emily Sagon Page and their illegitimate son in the United States. He appeared as George Harris in "Uncle Tom's Cabin" at PT Barnum's museum in late 1853. He later joined Laura Keene's company and appeared with the original cast in "Our American Cousin". He became well known for his Shakespearian roles and often performed at Ford's and Booth's theatres, as well as touring the US extensively. See more at Milnes Levick: Obituary.

    Milnes Levick was born on January 30th, 1825 in England to George Levick (1788 - 1873) and Eleanor Milnes (1797 - 1860) and had fifteen siblings Ann, George, Betsy, Eleanor, Eliza, and Maria Levick, who were older than him, but only George and Maria survived childhood. His younger siblings were: Christopher, Ina, James, Charlotte, Mary Ann, Matilda, Edward, Henry and Daniel. Four of his younger siblings also died in childhood. Milnes married Matilda Flint, who was born in 1819, on March 17th, 1845 in Boston, England and they had three daughters, Eleanor Matilda, Ina Charlotte and Emily Jane. The younger two both died before Milnes left England and the eldest died at the age of nine, two years after he arrived in New York. Milnes Levick then married Emily Sagon Page (1826 - 1878) in February of 1854 in Manhattan, New York and they had previously had a son, Gustavus Richard Craven Levick born in London on March 22 1852 and later adopted a son named George who was born in New York on March 10 1854. Gustavus died on June 5 1857 and Milnes and Emily changed George's name to Gustavus Richard. He became well known as an actor under the name Gus Levick. See his obituary at Milnes Levick: Obituary.

    DEMISE OF ACTOR LEVICK. NEW YORK, April 19. - Milnes Levick, the actor, died at his home here of cancer. He was born in England, Jan. 30, 1825, and came to this country in late 1853 and was lucky enough to be given the part of George Harris in "Uncle Tom's Cabin," at Barnum's museum. He remained with Mr. Barnum three years and then joined Laura Keene's stock company. Later he played Shakespearean roles and made a pronounced success as Julius Caesar. - Lincoln Journal Star (Lincoln, Nebraska) Monday, April 19, 1897.
