Daniel Pinna:
"Celebrating Thanksgiving with mom and Lisa. Kathy lived from 9 - 16 years old in Seattle. She had thanksgiving with grandma Nel and grandpa Shirley at noon and then at 5 they drove across Seattle to Magnolia Bluff to celebrate with Aunt Elaine (grandpa’s sister) since she wouldn’t talk or interact with Shirley (her step grandfather). Her father was Hollis and when her mother died they adopted out all of the girls including Elaine."
Kathy Pinna:
Changes - I am now considered “elderly” and, having spent the majority of my decades in San Jose, California, I have seen my home city change from orchards (called the Valley of Heart’s Delight) to a mass of people (called Silicon Valley). While San Jose is now full of innovation and opportunity, I miss the peace and slow pace of “the old days”!! And the beauty of the orchards.
Chelly Matthiesen:
Booper Smith - Hailey Stelzel was my daughter. The most precious love of my life, along with her brother Tyler. She was the absolute best person that I had ever known, she was the most caring, loving, exciting young lady. And i am so privileged to have been her mother. I miss her adorable crooked little smile and her gorgeous green eyes. She brought so much joy and happiness into my life, it has been unbearable living without her. Even though it has been almost 20 years since she passed away the pain has never gotten any easier to deal with, I always wonder what she would have been like if she were still with us. Part of my soul died the day I lost her and the only reason I survived was because of my beautiful blue eyed baby boy Tyler. I miss Hailey immensely every day. I would gladly give my life for hers. But that isn't possible. I love her and miss her and so does Tyler. Until we meet again my sweet Booper Smith.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Peggy Wells:
Grandpas hands were strong and told a story about a hard working man. He loved his family beyond speakable words. Grandpa was absolutely A devoted husband and father and grandfather. He was a hard working man, as I can remember he was a truck driver. Grandpa loved getting his head scratched and us grandkids combing his scalp. Man of patience, integrity, honesty, most forgiving man on earth, he had a lot to be proud of 7 children 14 grandchildren 1 great grandson when he passed away. This man was so compassionate. Best humor his is missed my many and hope is memory becomes a legend and always remembered.
Barbara Penrod:
Ambrose Hairston - My great-grandfather was the captain of a crew of workers, who installed "new- fangled" electric lines and gas lines to Sparta, and other southern cities. Therefore, the family moved from Georgia, to Tennessee, and to Alabama.
He had a second job delivering ice to homes about the time of the outbreak of the Spanish Flu (1918-1919). His daughter, Anne, saw bodies stacked like cordwood outside their window.
He married his sixth cousin, Martha Hairston, who was three years older, and they had 11 children (one died in early childhood).
While he was frail in his nineties, he had a good mind and a sense of humor.

Grandpa’s garden - If you ever knew my grandpa he was a very hard worker, his garden was his passion he loved to fish as well. He was always a jokester but loved to tease grandma all the time. I miss laying on his clothes from work every morning he wore. That smell I absolutely love to this day! I miss him so much. Until we meet again grandpa.

Memories - My grandmother 🥰:). German food…still the best I’ve ever had! Gram’s desserts… especially her raspberry turnovers and cinnamon/sugar swirls with leftover dough…chocolate chip cookies and rum balls at Christmas! Playing cards at night… and the song while getting our tea and treats ready…” I love coffee, I love tea… I love Jo-Ann and she loves me!”

LEONE TURNER:
Always there - Osias, the name given at birth but always called BUDDY! My big Brother who was always there for me. I have so many memories of him - one being I was hanging out on the corner with friends and he came over to me and told me to go upstairs as he heard that a gang was coming into the neighborhood. I do not remember if I listened to him or not. I always looked up to him and how I wish he was still here! Love ya so much & miss you!!
Amy Palombini:
Amy Palombini - Robert Palombini is my father-in-law. Unfortunately he passed before I met and married his son Samuel so I did not get to meet him in person. Sam and I talk about him often and I always enjoy the stories that begin with, " this one time my Dad....." and it's always a good time. I can tell you a few things that I have heard. He was a kind person, and enjoyed the fine things in life, like good friends, food, etc. He cooked and passed that onto his boys who also enjoy cooking and still try to recreate his signature red onion sauce from Bob's Dogs- the hotdog cart he ran in the Denver area. He enjoyed a good Chianti and we have lifted a glass of Frangelico in honor of his memory. If I could go back in time and meet any one person, I would chose Robert Palombini, so I could know him and how his influence lives on in my husband. Some of the words people use to describe him have been that he had a good sense of humor, he liked to party, he loved to eat, he was strong, brave, and tough. He was awarded the purple heart in Vietnam, among various other military awards. We have very few pictures of Robert, and lost even more in a house fire this year. I know he had friends all over the world, and if any one ever reads this, please share any photos you have. It would mean the world to us.
Mark Musser:
Mark Musser - I was a friend of Laurie's back while we were both attending LSU Shreveport during the '80s. I last saw her in 1996. We went out a few times, but were mainly friends. I recall her as a kind but somewhat melancholy person. We had lost contact after '97, and I called her mother around 2008 and learned of her passing (in 2006). Rest in Peace, Laurie. I haven't forgotten you.
