  • Introduction

    Norman Mills Leff's father was Marshall Leff and his mother was Beatrice Mills. When Norman was 13, he was living with his parents Marshall, 49, and Beatrice, 46, in Lawrence, New York. Also in the household were his siblings Robert, 21, and Warren, 17. Lawrence was in the 8th grade. Father Marshall was reported to be a "Portress" in a "broker" and brother Robert was a new worker. A few years later, when Norman was completing his draft registration for World War II, he was living in New York City. His next of kin was his mother - they were both living on Central Park West - and he had just been discharged from the United States Navy. He stated that he had a scar on his left wrist and a scar on his left thigh. He was 6 feet tall, weighed 165 pounds, and had hazel eyes, brown hiar, and a "light" complexion.
