They had a newspaper article on their 50th anitiversery with a cake with 50 on it in the Columbia daily herald.I cannot locate it online. I remember it when it took place.and seeing the article.

He was my great grandfather...He lived at 1209 and 1211 school Street in Columbia,Tn. He owned a greenhouse and landscaping business at his residence.his business was called Columbia nursery. His wife was Bessie hall Saunders. Legend says he was going by Sanders and his brother came from texas and told him he was a Saunders. He had a daughter. Carrie she married Thomas Sanders.in 1948. My mother Wanda Lee Saunders was born to Carrie in 1945.. Odia and Bessie raised Wanda. I could not ask for a more blessed family . My mother married prois Alton Underwood from athens, Tn. He was in the air force, Wanda went back to Columbia after traveling from bases to live with Bessie and odia. We had everything we asked for. Odia never wore anything but dress pants and work shirts he wore a felt hat ,later on he used a walking cane. I never seen odia dress down.
