    Oliver's father was Oliver Shakespeare Putnam (1838 - 1885) and his mother was Alice Malvina Putnam (1848 - 1893). He had a brother, Matt Carpenter Putnam. When he completed his draft registration card for World War I on September 12, 1918, Oliver was living in Manhattan, New York. His present occupation was actor and the name of his employer was "at liberty". He was native born and therefore a United States citizen. His next of kin was Matt C Putnam of Wisconsin. Oliver was white, age 42, and permanently living in New York, New York. He was "tall, slender, and had blue eyes and gray hair. He had no distinguishing marks on his body. There is a brief description of Oliver's life on Find A Grave. It says that he was a stage actor in New York City and that he appeared in "Montmartre" (1922), "The Bootleggers" (1922), "Baby Cyclone" (1927), "Mourning Becomes Electra" (1931), and "Snickering Horses" (1936).
