Paul Elmer Thornton Jr (also known as "Pee Wee") was born October 30 1948 to Paul E Thornton and Leona Henrietta Schaper. He served in the US Army in Vietnam from April 29 1968 through April 20 1970. He married Cheryl A Mccauley on November 27 1969 in Galveston, Texas. He also married Peggy L (Freeman) Thornton on August 27 1990 and they divorced on December 13 1994 in Galveston TX. There were no children born to his 2nd marriage. Paul Thornton Jr. had children Paul E. Trey Thornton and Paula Thornton.

Paul E. Thornton, Jr., 61, of Texas City, passed away Friday, March 12, 2010, at the Veterans Hospital in Houston. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 17, at Houston National Cemetery in Houston. Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 16, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City. Mr. Thornton was born October 30, 1948 in Galveston, Texas. He was a truck driver. Survivors include his son Paul E. "Trey" Thornton III and daughter Paula Thornton; grandchildren: Alyssa, Taylor, and Gage Thornton, Celeste and Edica Ruiz; other relatives and friends.
