Percival Twyford of Somerville, Mornington Peninsula Shire County, VIC Australia was born in 1892 to Alexander William Twyford and Sophia"Emily" Georgina Louisa Twyford ( Petrie. He had siblings Florence Emily Twyford, Ada Violet Box ( Twyford, and Elsie Twyford. He married Ellen Gwendoline "Nell" Twyford ( Stott, and had children Gwendoline Florence Cousland ( Twyford, Dorothy Patterson, and Joyce Shepherd. Percival Twyford died at age 83 years old on August 22, 1976, and was buried at Frankston Memorial Park 63 Cranbourne Rd, in Frankston, Frankston City County.

In 1892, in the year that Percival Alexander Twyford was born, on October 5th, the Dalton Gang was shot. The Gang was attempting to rob two banks - simultaneously - in Coffeyville Kansas but word spread of the robberies and townspeople with guns greeted them when they left the banks. Four members of the gang were killed - only Emmett Dalton survived his wounds and spent 14 years in prison.

In 1919, when he was 27 years old, in January, Nebraska was the 36th state to ratify the 18th Amendment, making it the law of the land. The 18th Amendment established Prohibition - a law against the production, transport, and sale of alcohol. Private consumption and possession were not prohibited. Several months later, the Volstead Act was passed, creating laws to enforce the Amendment. Bootlegging and bathtub gin followed.
