Peter Mann Clark was born in 1857 to Robert Clark. He was in a relationship with Ada Mary (Ward) Clark, and had children Frank Leslie Clark, Ada (Clark) Schroder, Robert Peter Clark, Ralph James Clark, and Fred Clark. Peter Clark died at age 76 years old in 1933.

CLARK. - In loving memory of our dear dad, Peter Mann, who passed away on Ist June 1933. Aged 76 years. - One of the best. CLARK. - On the 1st June, Peter, dearly beloved father of Robert and Lucy, also loving grandfather of Bobbie.

In 1857, in the year that Peter Mann Clark was born, on March 2nd, the largest slave auction in US history was begun. Called "The Weeping Time", the auction lasted 2 days. Slave owner Pierce M. Butler - who had inherited the slaves 20 years before but was now deeply in debt - sold 436 men, women, children, and infants, all of whom were kept in stalls at a racetrack in Savannah, Georgia. The people were held for weeks before the auction in the horse stalls.

In 1880, at the age of 23 years old, Peter was alive when on August 26th, P. T. Barnum and James A. Bailey signed a contract in Bridgeport, CT, creating the Barnum & Bailey Circus. Twenty-seven years later, the Barnum and Bailey would merge with another circus, Ringling Brothers.
