He married Mary (Moyer) Schrecengost, and had children Catherine Schrecengost, Alexander Schrecengost, Mary A. (Schrecengost) Rupp, Josiah Schrecengost, Sarah J. (Schrecengost) Wolf, Christina (Schrecengost) Marks, Susan Schrecengost, Hannah M. (Schrecengost) Kirkpatrick, and Matilda Schrecengost. Peter Schrecengost died at age 83 years old circa March 1, 1885.
