Peter was my high school sweetheart. The love of my life. We parted ways a few years after high school. Neither of us ever married. We were united 6 years prior to his death. I was blessed to have him back for those years. I never left his side for the last 5 weeks of his life at the Philadelphia, PA VA hospital hospice. The staff Debbie ARNP and the nurses were our Angels. They let me stay in the room with him 24/7. In life, we always held hands. At dawn on the morning of Dec.5. 2012. I held his hand as he took his last breath. The kind nurses allowed me to be alone with him when the end came. I asked him, "Please wait for me" A beautiful and brave soul, an exceptional soul departed this earth. My Marine will be there waiting for me one day. I know that he's at peace. And I will always be so proud of him..
