Phil had a nickname, "Phil the Voice." He was a mechanic at LaGuardia and never married but had a beautiful singing voice. He blamed all of his problems on having been raised a Catholic which amused everybody, especially Catholic men who were perfectly normal. He would lie in bed next to a beautiful girl and say nobody wanted him.
