He was married to Dorothy Wear Bush on August 6, 1921 in Kennebunkport, York County, Maine, and they were together until Prescott's death on October 8, 1972 in New York City, New York County, New York. He had children Prescott Sheldon Bush Jr., George Herbert Walker Bush, Nancy Walker Ellis, Jonathan James Bush, and William Henry Trotter Bush. Prescott Bush was buried on October 13, 1972 at Putnam Cemetery 35 Parsonage Rd, in Greenwich, Fairfield County, CT.
