Prescott Sheldon Bush Jr. was born on August 10, 1922 in Portland, Cumberland County, Maine United States to Prescott Sheldon Bush and Dorothy Wear Bush, and had siblings George Herbert Walker Bush, Nancy Walker Ellis, Jonathan James Bush, and William Henry Trotter Bush. He married Elizabeth Kathleen Bush in 1944 in Greenwich, Fairfield County, Connecticut, and they were married until Prescott's death on June 23, 2010 in Greenwich. He had children Kelsey (Bush) Nadeau and James Laurence Bush. Prescott Bush was buried on June 27, 2010 at Putnam Cemetery 35 Parsonage Rd, in Greenwich.

In 1922, in the year that Prescott Sheldon Bush Jr. was born, the Lincoln Memorial was dedicated in Washington, D.C. on May 30th. More than 35,000 people attended the dedication including Lincoln's son, Robert Todd Lincoln, and many Union and Confederate veterans - although the audience was segregated. The Memorial took 10 years to complete.
Did you know?
In 1945, by the time he was 23 years old, on April 12th, President Franklin D. Roosevelt died of a cerebral hemorrhage in Warm Springs, Georgia. At 1p, he was sitting for a portrait when he complained that he had a "terrific pain" in the back of his head and collapsed. A doctor was summoned and the doctor gave him a shot of adrenaline into his heart. It didn't help and he was pronounced dead at 3:30 p.m. A slow moving train took him back to Washington D.C. while thousands of mourners lined the tracks. He was buried at his home in Hyde Park, New York.
