Raymond Benjamin Scobee was born on October 13, 1913 in Young County, Texas United States to Myrtle Viola (Holder) Scobee and Mont Vernon "Vern" Scobee, and had siblings Oland B. "O. B." Scobee, Glen Edwin Scobee, Otis Lee Scobee, and Billy Joe Scobee. He married Lois Earlene (Gray) Scobee, and had children Bennie Vern Scobee, Raymond Earl Scobee, Kerry Lee "Scooby-Do" Scobee, and LaRonda Ruth (Scobee) Downs. Raymond Scobee died at age 86 years old on November 17, 1999 in Kamay, Wichita County.

  • Obituary

    Raymond Scobee married Lois Earlene Gray on 8 July 1938 at Megargel, Texas. She preceded him ind death. Raymond Scobee attended Newcastle High school. He entered the US Army in 1945 and trained at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Mr. Scobee was discharged in 1945. Scobee was a retired oil field worker. He moved to the Kamay community in 1966 from Bowie. A member of the First Baptist Church in Iowa Park, he had been attending the Kamay Baptist Church. Survived by two sons - Ben Scobee of Wichita Falls and Kerry Scobee of Iowa Park; one daughter - LaRonda Downs of Kamay; three brothers - Otis Scobee of Iowa Park, Glen Scobee of Olney and Frank Scobee of Burkburnett; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son - Raymond Earl Scobee.
