Raymond Benjamin Scobee was born on October 13, 1913 in Young County, Texas United States to Myrtle Viola (Holder) Scobee and Mont Vernon "Vern" Scobee, and had siblings Oland B. "O. B." Scobee, Glen Edwin Scobee, Otis Lee Scobee, and Billy Joe Scobee. He married Lois Earlene (Gray) Scobee, and had children Bennie Vern Scobee, Raymond Earl Scobee, Kerry Lee "Scooby-Do" Scobee, and LaRonda Ruth (Scobee) Downs.
