He married Lena Ann Cofrancesco on February 2, 1980 in New Haven, New Haven County, CT, and they were married until Richard's death on December 20, 2024 in New Haven. He had children Amy Elise Nagle, Richard William Cofrancesco, and Jessica Maye Becci. Richard Cofrancesco was buried on December 27, 2024 in New Haven.

    Richard A. Cofrancesco,74,of Hamden passed away peacefully on Friday December 20th,2024,with his family by his side at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband for 45 years years to Lena Bolduc Cofrancesco. Richard was born in New Haven on June 8th,1950,and was the son of the late Alex F. and Dorothy M. Warner Cofrancesco. He obtained his bachelor's degree from the former South Central Community College. Richard had worked in the insurance industry for Metropolitan Life Insurance,Liberty Mutual and later for his life's company The North Haven Insurance Group. A sports enthusiast throughout his life,in his younger years Richard enjoyed playing ice hockey and captaining the varsity soccer team at Amity High School. Richard was a dedicated father and grandfather who treasured every moment with his family. He played an active role in his children's lives,coaching their softball teams,playing pond hockey on the Harris Pond,and cracking jokes to keep the spirits high. His constant support and presence were cornerstones of their upbringing. Richard took immense pride in celebrating their successes and offered resolute guidance during challenging times,always standing behind them as a symbol of strength and encouragement. Father of Amy E. Nagle (Richard),Richard W. Cofrancesco and Jessica M. Cofrancesco (Emily). Papi of Aidan Ragusa,Ricky,Jace,Ava and Austin Nagle,Czara Cofrancesco. Brother of Gerald Cofrancesco (Donna),Alex Cofrancesco (Judy) and Eugene Cofrancesco (Paula). Also survived by brother-in-law Edward Bolduc (Anne) and nieces and nephews. The visiting hours will be Thursday,December 26th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home,36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Church of Our Lady of Assumption,81 Center Rd.,Woodbridge on Friday morning,December 27th at 11:00. Interment will be private and at the conveniecne of the family. In lieu of flowers,memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital www.stjude.org or Tunnel to Towers Foundation,
