Moved from Arkansas to Texas
Robert Lee was the eldest child of Ralph Capers Alsobrook, Sr. He was born in Hope, Hempstead County, Arkansas while Ralph lived in nearby Emmet. He was four years old in 1910 when the family lived in Thompson, Pike County, Arkansas. Between 1906 and 1908, the family had moved to Franklin County, Arkansas where he met and married May Belle Buchanan in 1915. He had recently turned 29 and she had recently turned 22. They moved around the NE Texas area, living in Talco of Titus County in 1917 and in Mt Pleasant of Titus County in 1920. They were in the community of Minter of Lamar County by 1930. In 1935, they were in Hopkins County and 1940 they had returned to Titus County where they were in April 1942 when he filled out his draft registration card. Before 1953, they had moved to Monterey, California and lived with various daughters until his death in 1959. He is buried in Mission Memorial Park of Seaside, California.
At some point before her death, Maybelle moved back to Hopkins County, Texas which is where her only living son lived. She died in Sulpher Springs, which is the nearest city to the community of Como, where he lived.
Robert's sister, Inez, married May Belle's brother, Robert Wilson Buchanan. They married eight months prior to Robert and May Belle. Inez and her Robert moved from NE Texas (having lived in the same counties as Robert and May Belle) to Galveston, Texas before 1940. The children of the two couples are double cousins.
