Williams Published: Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 12:30 a.m. Last Modified: Monday, February 27, 2006 at 5:08 p.m. Robert W. Williams, 78, died Saturday, February 25, 2006. A resident of Leesberg, Florida, Mr. Williams was born in Latham, Maryland. A 1953 graduate of the United States Naval Academy and veteran of World War II, he was an engineer for the Westinghouse corporation, a teacher and coach at Robert E. Fitch Sr. High School in Groton, Connecticut, and mayor of Boiling Springs Lake, North Carolina. He and his wife, Jane, retired to Florida in 2003. Mr. Williams coached wrestling, taught physics, served on church and community boards, and enjoyed golf. He is survived by his wife Jane, daughter Mary Lou Crow and her husband Kim of Waldorf, Maryland, son Arthur and his wife Joanne of Olivet, Michigan, and grandchildren Elizabeth Crow and Robert Crow. A memorial service will be held 11:00 Tuesday at St. James Episcopal Church of Leesberg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice Foundation of Lake and Sumter, 12399 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778-9972. Carey Hand Cox-Parker Funeral Home, Winter Park, is in charge of arrangements.
