  • Early Life & Education

    Roger graduated from Miles High School 1963. He attended the School of Engineering in Flint, Michigan, and the University of Iowa. He later graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College in 1973, then obtained a Master of Science Degree in Secondary Administration from Northeast Missouri State University in 1976.

  • Military Service

    Roger joined the U.S. Navy Reserve in Iowa City in 1967. He was deployed to Vietnam in February 1969, where he was among the Naval Support Activity Unit, stationed in Da Nang, Vietnam. He later served on a naval fuel farm in Tan My, Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in April 1970.

  • Professional Career

    Roger was hired as Assistant Principal of Keokuk High School in 1980, holding that position for twenty-four years until his retirement in 2004.
