    Rosalyn (Orkofsky) Weiss was born to Philip Orkofsky Iborn 1894) and Anna Lippman (1900 - 1973). Her father was born in Poland. Rosalyn had one brother and one sister. Rosalyn Orkofsky married Hyman L. Weiss (1923 - 2007) in 1954 in New York City, New York. They had three children: two daughters, Maureen and Pam, and a son, Barry. Barry became the Chairman and CEO of Island Def Jam/Universal Motown Republic. In his obituary, Hyman was described as a "Legendary Music Industry Pioneer." See Hyman Weiss Obituary.

Hyman Weiss Obituary
WEISS - Hyman, on March 20, 2007 of Rockleigh. Mr. Weiss was a Legendary Music Industry Pioneer. Beloved husband of the late Roslyn. Devoted father of Maureen Spergel (Ronald)l Barry (Randi) and Pamela Katz (Geoffrey). Dear brother of Sam and George. Loving grandmother (sic) of Harrison and Michael Weiss, and Linsey and Bradley Spergel. Service Thursday 11:30 am at Gutterman and Musicant 402 Park Street Hackensack, New Jersey. The memorial period will be observed at the residence of Barry Weiss.
