Introduction

After Rupert & Lucy's son Rupert Edwin died in 1858 he seems to have just vanished from the history of the family, that is until recently. Now here is what we know---- In March 1860 he was apprehended and charged with deserting his wife and daughter the court ordered him to pay 10 shillings per week towards their support for a period of 6 months (it is not know how much he did pay) Also at this point he had his name as Charles Rupert Budworth. In 1871 he was found living with his uncle at 21 Eland St. Nottingham, England but in the 1881 census he was listed as living in Leicester with his new wife Ann Jane Budworth (but wait there is no record of him ever divorcing his wife my GGGrandmother Lucy). Then in 1887 he was tried in Leicester on a charge of murder/manslaughter of his wife Ann however he was acquitted of the charge then in March 1888 he is in America and just married a Mary Hull but then he was back in England in the Last Quarter of 1888 and married again to a Mary Jane Marshall in Birkenhead but the marriage ended halfway through 1889 when he died at the age of 52. But he was trained as carpenter/cabinet maker by his father Rupert Budworth Sr. and no divorce but 4 wifes
