    The following appeared 16-Oct-2012 in the Democrat & Chronicle (Rochester, NY): Fanton, Ruth E. (Durbin) MENDON - Sunday evening October 14th, 2012 at the age of 87. Predeceased by her husband of 57 years, James E., and siblings Ralph Durbin and Mary (Durbin) Saunders.  Survived by her children Kenneth (Dolores), David and grandchildren Michael (Holly) and Nathan.  She was a dedicated mother and wife as well as an avid horsewoman, both riding and driving.  A member of WNYDA, the Northampton Driving Society, Walnut Hill and others, she was still participating and winning awards up till last season. Friends may call Wednesday October 17, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls.  Services will be held Thursday at 11am at the Honeoye Falls United Methodist Church, 31 East St. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Memorial Fund of the United Methodist Church of Honeoye Fall, Church St. Honeoye Falls or the Northampton Driving Society, 234 Martin Rd. Hamlin, NY 14464
