Ruth Ella (Hamilton) Langston was born to Eugene Edward Hamilton (1890 - 1973) and Bessie Lee Hamilton (1894 - 1973). She had siblings Velmas, Willie, Lucille, Eldridge, and another brother. She also had half-siblings Primrose and Eugene. Ruth E. Hamilton married John "Buddy" Conner Junior (1930 - 2004) in December of 1952 and they had a son, Leonard, and a daughter. Ruth E. Conner then married James Lynn Langston Junior in December of 1965.
