Ruth Harrison is the daughter of Walter Harrison (1845-1905) and Mary Ann Still (1845-1925). She was born on August 16, 1872 in Bega, New South Wales, Australia. Ruth had siblings Benjamin W (1870-1873), Benjamin Charles (1875-1912), Alice Mary (1877-1964), William Walter (1879-1923), Alfred John (1882-1941), Thomas (1883-1940), and Ethel Poppy Harrison (1885-1957). She married John William Hokin (1871-1943) in 1894 in Sydney, New South Wales. Together, they had a daughter named Alice Ivy Hokin (1898-1995). Ruth and John divorced on December 28, 1902. She then went on to marry Alfred Roberts (1876-1940) on December 31, 1923.
