The Wyalong Advocate. 11th December 1917. It is with great regret I have to record the death of two old inhabitants of this district, Mr. Sam Norris, of Murrin Bridge and Mr. W. Thompson of "Caroon." Mr. Norris had been unwell for some time past, and was on his way to Condobolin, accompanied by Mrs. Norris, to obtain medical aid, when he died suddenly. He leaves a widow, three daughters and seven sons, three of whom are at the front, one being a prisoner of war in Germany. Mr. Norris was given an Oddfellows' funeral, his sons belonging to that Order, and was buried on Thursday last at the cemetery here. The funeral cortege was preceded by 20 members of the Oddfellows' Lodge, who marched in their regalia to the grave-side.
