    Sandra Vaughn's parents were Walter James Vaughn and Marion G. Wheritt. She married Peter Dominic Torino (1935 - 1998) on Aug. 27, 1954, at Spearfish South Dakota. They lived in Spearfish before moving to Sioux Falls, where they operated the municipal swimming pool and her husband taught at Washington High School. They also owned and operated the Exchange pawn shop in Brookings, along with their son, Steve. She and her husband, Peter, died in the same airplane accident on July 26, 1998.
