Sarah Jane (Barker) Thomas was born in 1870 in Yambuk, Moyne Shire County, VIC Australia to Peter Barker and Phoebe (Oakley) Barker, and had siblings Susan (Barker) Lyfield, Ernest Barker, Olive Melinda (Barker) Watts, Annie Louise (Barker) Auhl Becker, David Vernon George Barker, Beatrice Barker, and Martha Beatrice (Barker) McCullough. She married Edward John Thomas, and had a child Albert Edward Thomas. Sarah Thomas died at age 79 years old in 1949.
