    Seth Sherman Van Brunt was born on May 26th, 1877 in Combs, Arkansas to Seth Smith Miles "Smithy" Vanbrunt (1852 - 1919) and Martha Ellen Doss (1857 - 1925) and he had ten siblings: Ervin, Eliza, Lonnie, Charles, Loy, Robert, Mattie, Annie, Jessie and Denny. Sherm Van Brunt married Rosa Belle Mounce (1889 - 1930) on December 24th, 1905 in Madison County, Arkansas and they had children Fred, Martha, Ella, Donna, Goldie, Etta, Loy, Gordon, Robert, Iva and Artemis. By the time that Sherm was 62 years old, he told the 1940 Federal census that he was divorced and living with his children Martha, Gordon, Robert, Dewey, Iva and Artemis. Sherm may have married again, to Martha Brake who he named as next of kin on his 1942 draft card, and had a son, Dewey, born in 1924. The Hanford Sentinel (Hanford, California) carried a record of the marriage of Sherman S. Van Brunt, 66, of Los Angeles to Martha J McHone, 61 of Hanford on May 31st, 1944 on page 5. On his April, 1942 World War II draft card, Sherm, who was 64 years old, described himself as being five feet six inches tall and as weighing 133 pounds. He had brown eyes, gray hair, and a "light" complexion.

Do you have any information on Martha? I can't find a marriage record for her and Sherman.
Alesha - I added what I found on Sherm but the records are very confusing. It seems that they may have married in California although he lived in Arkansas most of his life? I'm hoping that someone will step in and help with more date!
