Sherman Close was born in 1869 in Polk County, Iowa United States to William Rhesa Close and Priscilla Long, and had siblings Anna Elizabeth Close, Erastus Close, Oliver Rhesa Close, Marinda Mead Close, Louisa Close, and Arthur Loveland Close. Sherman Close died at age 10 years old in January 1880.
