    Was a teacher, farmer, teamed for steam saw mill where Celina now stands, Justice of the Peace one term, Deputy Surveyor of Mercer Co., Ohio, and Postmaster 1850-1860
  • Personal Life & Family

    Was a prominent and active Mason In 1852 joined Masonic Lodge at St. Mary's, Ohio and assisted in establishing a lodge in Celina, Ohio in 1855 where he was the first master and remained a member there til 1868. He organized lodge in Rockford and was first master there. Served 40 yrs. as member of the Board of Education due credit is given to him for securing graded schools in Rockford and Mercer.

Capt. Smith Hart Clark was the son of William Clark and Elizabeth Beck. Capt. Clark was born Dec. 11, 1817,in Mason Co., Point Pleasant. He was one of the prominent and highly esteemed citizens. Married January 1844, Mercer Co., Ohio. Nancy Archer Greer was the daughter of Judge Joseph Greer and Catherine Bird

Thank you for sharing :) nancy Archer Greer is my "gggg" aunt if I count right her parents are Judge Joseph Greer and Catherine Bird who are my ggggg grandparents if I count right, Nancy's two brothers are Creed and Greyham I finally put an connection with them a few days ago with a professional genelogy research so was excited about it. Please do send me any pictures or info on Nancy and if she had any more siblings that I am not ware ofif you have any? I just found out that Nancy, Unity are also sisters and put Creed and Greyham with them.

Forgot to add this: Nancy's brother, Greyham was my "gggg grandpa" who died in young manhood in Fort Wayne, Indiana, I still can't find his final resting place.
