Introduction

Stanley Robert Jefferson is the child of Arthur Stanley Jefferson (1890 - 1965) better known as comedian "Stan Laurel" and actress Lois Neilson (1895-1990). Stanley had one older sister, Lois Laurel Brooks-Hawes who was born in 1927and died in 2017 at the age of 89. She was 3 years old at the time of her little brother Stanley’s birth Stanley Jefferson was born 2 months premature on May 7th, 1930 in Los Angeles and lived only for 9 short days, passing away on May 16th, 1930. His father Stan was overwhelmed with grief when his son died. He supposedly disliked funerals so much, that the family decided to cremate as opposed to a burial.

Baby Stanley was born two months prematurely and died nine days later. He was the second child born to the legendary comedian Stan Laurel and his first wife, Lois Neilson. His death understandably brought much grief and depression to his parents and his older sister Lois. Stanley was cremated instead of buried because his father couldn't stand funerals and was already overwhelmed with enough grief.
