Sue Ann Snow married William M Alsobrook about 1849. In 1850, they are said to have been married within the year. They life with a young couple, Alfred (26) and E. Pitts (23) and a two-month-old son, J. F. Pitts. They are still in Dyer County in 1860. E. Pitts was born in SC so I wonder if she isn't the connection to either William or Sue Ann.

Land Purchase 1895 in Sevier County, AR
According to the Federal Land Records, Ann Alsobrook bought land in Sevier County on 1895/01/02. Since George Galloway bought land from this same section on the same day, it is assumed this Ann was Sue Ann Snow Alsobrook, George's mother-in-law. Sec No T R Acres 18 8S 29W 80 This land was within 30 miles of the land in Pike County bought by Ralph Capers Alsobrook (sr) on 1897/01/21 (18 8S 24W 160). A little about Sevier County: it was organized October 22, 1828, formed from Hempstead and Miller Counties. Sevier County was bounded by Hempstead, Miller, Crawford, and the Choctaw Nation in Indian Territory. In 1871, 120 acres of land was donated by the Lockes and Lockesburg became the county seat. The county seat was changed again in 1905. This is the present day DeQueen, Ar. Sevier county is known as "The Land of Lakes", " The Land of Fruits and Flowers" and "The Home of Friendly People". Tutorship, Sep 13 1866
Ann filed for tutorship of minor children of William M. Alsobrook and herself. According to Pauline Mobley, researcher from West Carroll Parish, in Louisiana, this step was necessary for her to have legal authority to handle the property passed on to the children as it always was when a parent died without having left a will. The minor children named are: "Ann Eliza Alsobrook, William R. Alsobrook, Mary McCall Alsobrook and Ralph Capers Alsobrook." By the 27th, the District Court had indeed appointed Ann as the children's legal tutor and J. S. Sheppard was appointed the UnderTutor. She spoke up in court, declaring her intensions, like with help of Thomas Jefferson Sage for normally women did not speak up in court in such a determined manner as Ann did. She likely did this with the need to be able to sell some of the property. I wonder if J. S. Shepperd wasn't the husband of one of Ann's sisters since clearly Thomas Sage was the husband of sister, Susan. Also, I wonder why Nancy wasn't listed as one of Ann's children since she'd be 14 or 15 at this time. Had she died young, or perhaps she married young, taking her share of the land with her, and thus leaving the household for good?
