Introduction

Born in Mysore, India, he was a son of the late Syed Jamaluddin and Syed Shahzadi Begum. Dr. Amanuddin was a professor at Morris College. Survivors include his wife, Ashraf Basith Amanuddin; two sons, Irfan Syed Amanuddin and Rizwan Syed Amanuddin of Sumter; two brothers, Syed Ghouse Mohiuddin and Syed Hafizzuddin of Mysore, India; two sisters Rafiq Habeebullah of Bijapur, India, and Sayeeda Burhanuddin of Mysore, India. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today in the chapel of the Elmore-Hill Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Columbia. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the "We Care" at the Baptist Cancer Institute in Columbia.
