Sylvester dropped out of high school in his senior year at Pennsauken High School however, he received his GED through the Marine Corps

Sylvester grew up Catholic and attended St Cecelia's School, Pennsauken, NJ until 8th grade.

Sylvester was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War
-
He mostly worked construction but had to give up the trade once war wounds prohibited him from wearing required work boots. He suffered the ravages of jungle rot on his feet as well as the ill affects of Agent Orange.

Sylvester loved to cook, dance, and party.
