T. J. Pearson T. J. Pearson 79, of Duncan, passed away Monday, May 27,2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. at the Carter-smart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Bowles officiating, interment will be at Lake City Cemetery in Lake City, Iowa, arrangements are under the direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home. Their will be a family visitation Wednesday form 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. T.J. was born January 18, 1924 in Audubon, Iowa to Asa & Nanwie (Vaughn) Pearson, he retired from the U.S. Post Office after 24 years as a mail carrier, he was a commander of the Civil Air Patrol, a veteran of the U.S. Air force, A.J. was a lay preacher in The Church of the Nazarene at Comanche & Henrietta, Texas, he also was a member of The Letter Carrier Association, T.J. And Audene Wright were married June 8, 1954 in Ryan, Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife; Audene of the home, sons; Asa C. Pearson & Wife Patricia, of Duncan, T.J. Pearson Jr. of Duncan, a daughter; Vonda Howard & husband Jimmy of Edmond, Oklahoma, a brother; Asa B. Pearson of Mt. Vernon, Washington, a sister; Alice Lindquist of Ida Grove, Iowa and Nancy Lesing of Chicago, Ill. 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
