I never met my Great Grandmother Tama Pamanuk. I did not meet my Great Grandfather Atashni Macamic (Whos name had been changed) by the border guards to Anselme Macamaux when he came to the U.S. I was about 12 years old when I received the info from my grandfather Louis, One of Atashni's sons. Tama Pamanuk was no longer in his life at that time. She had passed away some time earlier. It was his first and last trip to visit his son Louis. I just remember this very strong looking man and my grandfather told me who he was. I didn't realize until much later who he was because of the name change. I thought he was just a friend of my grandfather.
