Thomas (1878-1963) and had two sisters Mary (born 1910) and Thelma (born 1912), a brother Bernard (born 1913), and a half sibling John (1900-1950). He married Pansy Christine Duckworth (born 1917) in Madison County Tennessee on March 17th 1944 and they had two children. Thomas Shorkey was a World War 2 Veteran, and served in the Army Air Corp.

    The following appeared in The Times Herald in Port Huron Michigan on Monday May 21st 2007: St. Clair - Thomas E. "Ed" Shorkey, age 85, of St. Clair, formerly of Marine City, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2007. Mr. Shorkey graduated from Holy Cross High School in 1939 and served with the Army Air Corp during World War II. On March 17, 1944, he married Pansy Duckworth in Jackson, Tennessee. Mr. Shorkey owned and operated Shorkey's Corner Grocery for 24 years and also owned Shorkey's Party Store, both in Marine City. He was a life time member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Pansy S. Shorkey; children, Richard (Catherine) Shorkey of San Rafael, California and Christine (Joseph) Beck of Romeo; grandchildren, Andrea Beck, Elizabeth (Brian) Levine and Aaron Beck. He was preceded in death by his siblings, John Shorkey, Sister Mary Shorkey IHM, Delma Saam and Bernard Shorkey. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours are 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials are suggested to Holy Cross Activities Center.
