    Thomas F. Rose, 49, longtime Superior resident, currently of Missouri Avenue, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth, Minn. He was born in Rhinelander, Wis. on June 25, 1954 the son of Paul and Genevieve (Zettler) Rose. Thomas graduated from High School in Rhinelander, Wis. and received his B. A. degree from the University of Wisconsin, Superior in English and Chemistry. He was employed as an Agricultural Chemist for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture. Thomas was an avid Wisconsin sports fan. He was a 1983 recipient of a heart transplant. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Genevieve Rose and one sister, Sr. Paula Rae Rose. Thomas is survived by one son, Aaron Rose of Superior. VISITATION:5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, Superior, with a 6:30 p.m. Scripture Service. Visitation will continue at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, and continue until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Father Daniel Dahlberg as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be Dennis Dzuck, Gary McDonald, Jack Ursin, Mike Granlund, Jason Slatten and Ron Miller. The U.S. Army accused Roy Cohn (chief counsel to Senator McCarthy and later trusted mentor of Donald Trump) of blackmail. McCarthy and Cohn accused the U.S. Army of harboring communists. The Army allegations were found to be true. The U.S. Senate later censured McCarthy.
