  • Introduction

The Sun. Kalgoorlie. W.A. 25th June 1911. THE LATE MR. THOS. JORDAN. Widespread sorrow was caused by the death of Mr. Thomas Jordan, the Boulder representative of the " Kalgoorlie Miner " which occurred at the St. John of God Hospital on Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Jordan entered the hospital about a fortnight ago to undergo what was regarded as a simple operation, but on Tuesday morning last serious symptoms set in and he passed away quietly at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. The late Mr. Jordan was an extremely loveable man. He was of a rather retiring disposition, and his many good qualities were known only by those who came into close contact with him, He was a native of Bendigo, and served his apprenticeship to journalism on the " Bendigo Independent." He came West in the early days of the gold boom, and for a while tried his hand at prospecting, but subsequently he joined the staff of the " Kalgoorlie Miner," with which he was connected for some 15 years. He leaves a widow and two young children, for whom sincere sympathy is felt.
