    Tommy Everett Washington was born to Marvin Hayden Washington (1897 - 1985) and Abbie Odessa Goodwin (1895 - 1966). Both of his parents were born in Texas. He had a sibling who died in infancy in 1921, plus three other siblings: Kenneth Floyd, Margaret Jean, and Martha Jane Washington. A veteran of World War II, Tommy Washington enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps as a private and left as a First Lieutenant. He enlisted on April 7, 1942 and was discharged on December 1, 1945. Thomas E. Washington married Martha J. Meade in January of 1946 in Carson City, Nevada. Their first home was in Fort Worth, Texas. They had a daughter, Cindy.

    Tommy was a member of Travelers' Masonic Lodge since 1946, Scottish Rite and Ben Ali Shrine since 1970. He was active in Sacramento Jaycees and was president of Northern California Truck Club. He married Martha, who survived him, and they had a daughter, Cindy. He was also survived by one grandson.
