Introduction

The Argus, Melbourne. 13th May 1933. The death has occured of Dr. Ulick Arthur William Daly, who was in active practice in Gisborne for more than 40 years. Dr. Daly was born in Dublin in 1853, and was educated at the Dublin University. He became a ship's surgeon in the service of the P. and O. Company, and was later medical officer to a telegraph survey expedition on the Amazon, South America. He was elected an honorary member of the Australian section of the British Medical Association, and began practice at Gisborne in 1889. He retired last year. Dr Daly has left a widow, one son and one daughter. Colonel F. A. Daly, of Portsea is brother.
