Ulysses S. Grant Burns
I have an old studio photograph identified as U. S. G. BURNS of Paint Valley, OH who was a member of the Class of 1889 at the University of Wooster. The photograph appears to have been taken in the late 1880's with Mr. Burns appearing to be in his 20's or 30's at the time the photograph was taken.
I believe that this is a photograph of Ulysses S. G. BURNS and was able to gather the following information regarding Ulysses and his family:
Ulysses Grant BURNS was b. 14 Apr 1864 in Ohio to parents Garret BURNS (1824-1915) and Margaret ROBISON (1832-1889). Ulysses was one of 9 children born to this couple including James; Hugh Robison; Baby Boy; John; Elmer Ellworth; Ulysses Grant; Mary Margaret; Anderson; William Theodore; and Jennie Rebecca BURNS, all born between 1857 and 1873. His father was married previously and had another son, James BURNS (b. 1852).
Ulysses married Angeline Rebecca BRADLEY (1864-1951) in Missouri in 1885 and they had 5 children including Ratthe; Omar M.; Hobert Dodson; Bernice Angie; and Bradley BURNS, all born between 1888 and 1901. Ulysses died 10 Oct 1936 in Santa Clara, CA and is buried in the Mission City Memorial Park in Santa Clara, CA.
