Victor and his wife Martha came to Miami Florida from Cuba in the 1970s in search of the 'American Dream'. Victor was a roofer and quickly found his trade was valuable in the States. He did well for himself and his wife, quickly growing his business through word of mouth. On August 18th 2006 he got up early like he normally did to prepare for work. After sunrise Martha got up and went searching for him. She knew something was wrong because the front door to their home had been left open. She called out for Victor and searched the home then found him lying dead with his mouth covered with duct tape. Martha screamed and called the police. Detectives arrived on the scene and began to piece meal what had happened. They believe he was attacked by at least two people during a home invasion. Bloodstains were found along the wall on the exterior of the home and injuries to Victor's hands showed that he put up a struggle. Once the intruders had Victor restrained they forced him to open his safe and took his valuables including his coin collection. His murder occurred during a time when similar crimes were happening in the neighborhood - an elderly man had just recently also a victim of a home invasion where the intruders stole from his safe. A Miami detective on the case, Andy Arrostegui said "We believe that there might be some connection to those individuals, and even though some of them are in custody we don't have any definite evidence at this time. No conclusive evidence that they were involved in this homicide." As of 2020 I believe this case is still unsolved. If you have any details please add them to this biography.
