Walter Charles Coode of Kensington Australia was born in 1855 to Charles Coode and Elizabeth (Hurd) Coode. He had siblings Jane Garniss Coode, Grace Deleval Hogan, and Elizabeth (Coode) Dale. He was in a relationship with Annie (Cavanagh) Coode, and had children Grace Coode, Annie May (Coode) Willett, Ada Jane Coode, and Walter Coode. Walter Coode died at age 42 years old on May 9, 1898 at Kensington in City of Melbourne County, Victoria, and was buried at Melbourne General Cemetery College Cres, in Parkville, VIC.
