The Argus, Melbourne. 28th September 1915. DOUBLE FATALITY. TIMBER TRUCK LEAVES LINE. ALEXANDRA. Monday. A double fatality occurred on Saturday afternoon near a spot known as the "Devil's Elbow," on the tram line near the Rubicon Falls..... The Age, Melbourne. 27th September 1915. - Timber Trucker Killed. ALEXANDRA. - An accident happened on the Rubicon saw mill track on Saturday, when a trucker named Walter Herbert Robinson, was killed. The deceased was a son-in-law of Rev. R. H. Scott, of Alexandra. The Ballarat Star, 28th September 1915. THROWN INTO A GORGE. TWO PERSONS KILLED. - Alexandra, Monday. Additional particulars regarding the fatal accident which occurred on Clark and Kidd's tramway on Saturday evening, show that Walter Robinson, a trucker, and Mrs. Albert O'Brien were killed instantly when thrown from a truck into the gorge.... The Alexandra and Yea Standard & Yarck, Gobur, Thornton and Acheson Express. 29th October 1915. - INQUEST. THE FINDING. The Coroner then gave his finding to wit :- That Walter Herbert Robinson and Catherine O'Brien met their death from accidental overturning of a truck of timber on Clark, Kidd and Co's tram line in the Rubicon forest on Sept. 25th last. The Argus, Melbourne. 27th October 1915. CASUALTIES AND FATALITIES. RUBICON TRAMWAYS ACCIDENT. ALEXANDRA, Tuesday. The inquiry into the death of Walter H. Robinson and Catherine Alice O'Brien, who were killed in the tramline accident on the Rubicon River, on September 25,came to an end today, when the coroner recorded a verdict that death in each case was due to the accidental overturning of a truck of timber, on Clark, Kidd and Co's tram line in the Rubicon Forest, on September 25. The Alexandra and Yea Standard. 15th October 1915. PERSONAL. In the death of Walter Herbert Robinson, who was killed in a most tragic manner on the Rubicon tram line on September 25, the district has lost one who has spent his whole life in it, a period of 37 years. He was one of those men beloved by all and against whom there had never been a breath of scandal or a word of ill will.
